Boston Celtics 2025-2026 guide: Roster, Depth Chart & Key Players
Without Tatum, Porzingis, and Horford, the Celtics lose much of their identity, but it’s from these difficulties that valuable opportunities arise for fantasy coaches
The Boston Celtics have undergone a bit of a revolution, adding functional players to their roster that will need to be evaluated gradually.
With Jayson Tatum out for most of the season, it’s inevitable to already start looking toward the future. However, the Celtics won’t completely abandon the hope of staying competitive, especially if some unexpected players manage to shine.

Key Players
Without his more famous teammates from last season, Jaylen Brown (F, 15.0 cr) will necessarily have to step up and play the best version of himself, temporarily assuming the role of leader and delivering more bonuses than usual. It’s rare to find a team with its main player priced at just 15 credits.
Anfernee Simons (G, 10.5 cr) is a key scorer who has proven he can deliver over 20 points per game, often adding a few assists to the mix. He’s already made us plenty of profit in the past with great value, and it wouldn’t surprise us if, with the current roster available to the Celtics, he keeps the same shot volume as in previous years.
Possible Surprises
While everyone expects Hauser and Queta to form the primary big-man duo, what if Chris Boucher (F, 5.0 cr) found his way into the rotation? He’s the first alternative to both, costs only 5 credits, and offers great value in terms of production per minute played. For a player whose main unknown factor is his physical condition, every single minute he’s on the floor could prove to be particularly fruitful.
Players to Avoid
The player most at risk of being undervalued is definitely Max Shulga (G, 6.5 cr). Not only due to his Two-Way contract, but also because of the presence of players like White, Simons, Pritchard, and potentially even Brown, while Scheierman seems to be ahead of him in the rotation. At 6.5 credits, despite the affordable price, he could bring you a frustrating negative return.
Likely Starting Lineup
PG: Anfernee Simons (Guard, 10.5 credits)
SG: Derrick White (Guard, 13.0 credits)
SF: Jalen Brown (Forward, 15.0 credits)
PF: Sam Hauser (Forward, 7.5 credits)
C: Neemias Queta (Center, 6.5 credits)
Power Ranking
We don’t expect the Celtics to shine this season, but neither do we expect them to finish at the bottom of the conference. They still have a functional system and several useful players. Given the presence of teams in the Eastern Conference that are much worse off, they might still secure a playoff spot, although it’s not guaranteed and will have to be fought for, possibly with a last-minute assist from Tatum.
