This is a young, talented team that recently tasted the playoffs – with the oldest starter that has only 27 years old – making them a perfect hunting ground for Fantasy Basketball managers in search of their next breakout star.

At the end of the article, you can consult all the guides to the 30 NBA teams by accessing the Guide Index.

Dunkest NBA Fantasy Basketball has over 200,000 fantasy coaches competing every year since 2013 with points, assists, and rebounds. It’s free and can be played via iOS app, Android app, and Website.

Key Players

The well-known and hugely popular Paolo Banchero (F, 14.0 cr) will continue to lead the team – and many fantasy rosters – supported by some very respectable role players.

Franz Wagner (F, 11.5 cr) will face more offensive competition this season, but he still averaged 27.6 FTP last year. It’s true that Desmond Bane (G, 11.5 cr) will take up some of the scoring load, but his presence will also draw defensive attention, giving Wagner better spacing and more freedom.

Possible Surprises

Jalen Suggs (G, 7.5 cr) sits just above the bargain pricing – partly due to a long injury absence last season – but he could become a ‘must-have’ if he keeps generating value. He made significant strides as a scorer last year, and if he can improve his playmaking, his average of 19.2 FTP could see a sharp rise.

Players to Avoid

Wendell Carter Jr. (C, 9.0 cr). His Dunkest numbers suggest he’s not an ideal fantasy pick. Despite averaging 5.5 more minutes per game and holding a starting role, he scored fewer FTP than teammate Goga Bitadze (C, 6.5 cr) – 17.4 vs. 18.4 – with a significantly higher cost, making him a less attractive option for fantasy managers.

Likely Starting Lineup

PG: Jalen Suggs (Guard, 7.5 Credits)

SG: Desmond Bane (Guard, 11.5 Credits)

SF: Franz Wagner (Forward, 11.5 Credits)

PF: Paolo Banchero (Forward, 14.0 Credits)

C: Wendell Carter Jr. (Center, 9.0 Credits)

Power Ranking

The Magic are one of the teams most likely to improve theyr placement from last season, especially with reduced competition in the East this year. Led by the trio of Banchero-Wagner-Bane, with two solid role players completing the starting five and capable bench depth, a secure playoff spot – possibly even a top-five finish – seems well within reach.
