Sacramento Kings 2025-2026 guide: Roster, Depth Chart & Key Players

After missing the playoffs and adding Westbrook, doubts surrounding the Sacramento Kings are growing thicker

The Sacramento Kings enter the new season with a roster that’s intriguing yet full of question marks. Despite having Sabonis – a big man with excellent passing skills – and scorers like LaVine and DeRozan, capable of creating their own shots without relying on a traditional point guard, the team has decided to turn the page at the helm: from the Fox–Haliburton duo to the Schroeder–Westbrook pairing. A move that, rather than inspiring confidence, raises plenty of questions.

Key Players

Also known as “the center you take when you can’t afford Jokic,” Domantas Sabonis (C, 19.5 cr) remains the Kings’ top fantasy asset, thanks to his mix of scoring, rebounding, and high assist numbers.

Zach LaVine (G, 10.5 cr) was the Kings’ best performer in terms of FTP among players priced between 8 and 11 credits. After the trade that brought him to Sacramento, the team must lean on him, giving him minutes and possessions. He’s shown he can convert those opportunities into meaningful fantasy value, averaging 26 FTP and ending the season valued at 12.9 credits.

Possible Surprises

Initially, Nique Clifford (G, 9.5 cr) will likely see less playing time than his cost might suggest, but he could turn out to be a pleasant surprise for fans and fantasy players over the season. In Summer League, he showed he can impact all statistical areas with 15.2 points, 6.5 rebounds, 4.2 assists, and shooting percentages near 50% overall and 46% from three.

Players to Avoid

Aging seems to be catching up with DeMar DeRozan (G, 11.0 cr), who now must be considered the team’s third option offensively. While he’s capable of explosive scoring nights, consistency has never been his strong suit in fantasy, and this year, he may see even fewer minutes.

Likely Starting Lineup

PG: Dennis Schroder (Guard, 6.5 Credits)

SG: Zach Lavine (Guard, 10.5 Credits)

SF: DeMar Derozan (Forward, 11.0 Credits)

PF: Keegan Murray (Forward, 8.5 Credits)

C: Domantas Sabonis (Center, 19.5 Credits)

Power Ranking

The Fox trade, which brought LaVine in – overshadowed by the Doncic trade – has changed the Kings’ roster significantly, but not their results. The team remains trapped in mediocrity, which doesn’t pay off in the NBA, and they are accumulating expiring contracts to be traded at the deadline. At the moment, they seem destined for a finish between 8th and 11th place.
