Toronto Raptors 2025-2026 guide: Roster, Depth Chart & Key Players

After Nick Nurse’s departure, this franchise still hasn’t found a precise direction, identifying it will be the key objective this season.

After a couple of wild years, the Toronto Raptors find themselves with a mix of young players to develop and some renowned veterans; these kinds of combinations rarely work immediately, but what really matters today in Canada is laying solid foundations for the future, using the good pieces already at hand.

Key Players

Scottie Barnes (F, 12.5 cr) will be called upon to figure out what kind of player he truly wants to be: he could average 20-25 points, but his best performances have come as an all-around player; that combination of physical build, athleticism, court vision, defensive and offensive ability places him among the limited elite of top players who can affect games in multiple ways. However, to help himself – and help the front office also to decide who to pair with him in a more competitive setup – he will be asked to specialize in something, perhaps following in the footsteps of that Pascal Siakam whom Toronto has loved so much.

Brandon Ingram (F, 11.0 cr) landed in Canada a bit by chance and still hasn’t imposed himself; recent memories go back to that bad ending in New Orleans, when the Pelicans couldn’t wait to move him, and when he ended up isolating himself even more in response to coaching demands for more team play, showing a frustration that risks pulling him off fantasy radars quickly. And yet, Toronto is such a peculiar environment that BI might be able to be reborn, finally becoming the offensive focal point he always thought he could be.

Possible Surprises

Including him among “surprises” is almost unfair given how much good he’s done in Canada, but at that price RJ Barrett (F, 9.0 cr) is a guaranteed plus-value; after being offloaded by his previous team, the former Knick could not wait to return home, and has shown the best version of himself since arriving in the NBA. Given how deep that Draft was, his being selected third from NY remains too high, but finally Barrett is showing what he’s made of.

Gradey Dick (G, 5.0 cr) is struggling to take off, to the point that his valuation was reduced over the summer; the preseason was positive and Toronto desperately needs a potentially reliable shooter, so we feel comfortable recommending him at a low price. For guards of this type, the moment of breakout is fairly rapid, so let’s hope this is the time for Dick.

Switching gears, Jonathan Mogbo (F, 6.5 cr) represents the Raptors’ basketball idea in its purest form: tall, super athletic, and versatile, so much so that he still lacks a precise on-court role; he is certainly raw, but Mogbo represents a big developmental asset, perhaps even starting this season.

Players to Avoid

Let’s get this out front: Collin Murray-Boyles (F, 7.5 cr) is potentially a great defensive specialist and will perform at good NBA levels eventually, but this kind of player always takes a few years to emerge, the moment when his shooting percentages improve. Right now his offensive arsenal is too limited to guarantee him big minutes, even in a generally non-demanding environment like Toronto.

Likely Starting Lineup

PG: Scottie Barnes (Forward, 12.5 Credits)

SG: Brandon Ingram (Forward, 11.0 Credits)

SF: RJ Barrett (Forward, 9.0 Credits)

PF: Collin Murray-Boyles (Forward, 7.5 Credits)

C: Jakob Poeltl (Center, 10.5 Credits)

Power Ranking

Hypothize how this Raptors season might develop is extremely difficult: if the coaching staff decides to give the team a more competitive identity, very interesting scenarios could open up, especially given Toronto’s huge defensive potential and the lack of alternatives in an Eastern Conference completely devoid of a strong middle class; it’s in this middle ground that the Raptors could settle, aiming for a placement worth playoff contention, at least with the Play-In.
