Fanta Euroleague M17, Tips

Happy 2021 from the Dunkest Euroleague staff with the M17 Tips

Tip-off set for 6pm with the match between Khimki and Olympiacos. Last match of 2020 Euroleague and of the matchday is the big match between Milan and CSKA on Wednesday at 8.45pm.

Many crossovers between former coach & players, with coach Messina, Rodriguez, Micov and Hines on one side and Hackett and Mike James on the other.

GUARDS

Scottie Wilbekin (Maccabi Tel Aviv, 13.8 CR): whether they win or lose, Maccabi has one constant, Scottie Wilbekin. He is literally dragging his team by the hand, out of a crisis that before the victories against Barça and Pana seemed to have no end. We recommend him despite the defense of Pangos’ Zenit.

Marius Grigonis (Zalgiris Kaunas, 10.8 CR): first Mvp in October, then among the worst in November. This month he helped Schiller and Zalgiris find the right way, also taking advantage of Walkup’s difficult moment. Alba and Zalgiris are among the teams that score the most, especially from 3 and the specialist, who won’t have Siva in front, can only do well.

Nemanja Nedovic (Panathinaikos Athens, 10.3 CR): difficult to see him repeat the super match in the defeat against Maccabi. Against the Red Star in Belgrade, without Loyd and who, beyond the change on the bench, does not have the reputation of a great defense, the Serbian guard is very good in R2.

FORWARDS

Trey Thompkins (Real Madrid, 10.7 CR): he could be one of those to benefit most from Randolph’s prolonged absence, if you can put it that way. The challenge with Moerman and Singleton will certainly put him to the test, but we bet on him, also given the few choices among the Top wings.

Guerschon Yabusele (LDLC Asvel Villeurbanne, 10.0 CR): the former Celtics is giving his best in recent games. The victory in Istanbul against Fener is not at all obvious, but the long Frenchman can still play a good game.

Paulius Jankunas (Zalgiris Kaunas, 6.2 CR): the Euroleague record man is experiencing another spring after traumatizing many Dunkest coaches, with -2 at the debut of the game in the Euroleague. It is not the first time that we have put him among the recommended ones this season and there is a reason. Coach Schiller has started from his beacon for the post Jasikevicius and among the low-priced wings we do not find better.

CENTERS

Jan Vesely (Fenerbahce Istanbul, 14.0 CR): return with a bang from the mini injury against Olympiacos. Against Asvel without Fall, however, it is difficult to see him repeating his self equally, but if Fener really wanted to get out of the moment of crisis they will have to rely on the long Czech and De Colo.

Jaylen Reynolds (FC Bayern Munich, 11.5 CR): one of the former players of the day is the American center, who played the final of the 2018 season in Barcelona before going to Zenit. The challenge between his Bayern and Barça is important, but under the basket the Blaugrana are in deficit and Reynolds will be able to take advantage of it.

Usman Garuba (Real Madrid, 6.7 CR): this is a low cost alternative, as could be Khimki’s Booker. Although in R1 it is a good bet, but given the absence of Pleiss on the other side, Laso could reward him, given the hole left by Randolph and why not repeat, or even just approach the 30 PT recorded against Alba.

COACHES

Georgios Vovoras (Panathinaikos Athens, 5.1 CR): the home factor with closed doors does not exist and for this reason, but not only, Pana can win in Belgrade, with the unpredictable return of Radonjc on the bench. The “Greens” play full force anyway, while the “Reds” won’t have their best striker which is Jordan Loyd.

Igor Kokoskov (Fenerbahçe Istanbul, 4.7 CR): the choice over the coach of Serbia does not come from who plays at home and who away. The post-Obradovic re-foundation is not going well, but the victory with Olympiacos can give oxygen to the environment, as well as the return of Vesely and De Colo. The return to base of Guduric and the absence of Fall for Asvel are two other elements that lead us to think that Fener can close 2020 with a victory.
