EuroLeague Fantasy 2026-27: Minutes, Roles and Schedule

EuroLeague Fantasy 2026-27 opens on 24 September 2026, with the same 20 teams and 38 regular season rounds as last year, Beşiktaş replacing Monaco, and a new SuperCup landing on 18 and 19 September.

Scoring still runs on Performance Index Rating, which means minutes and role, not reputation, decide which players repay their credits. It is the same basic principle that applies when comparing current best UK gambling sites: the headline name matters less than the underlying value, structure and conditions.

That distinction matters more this year than last. Several clubs spent the summer stacking talent on top of talent, and PIR does not reward a star who sits for twelve minutes because the coach has three other options at his position.

When does the 2026-27 EuroLeague season start?

The regular season runs from 24 September 2026 to 16 April 2027, with 20 teams playing home and away across 38 rounds and only ten advancing to the postseason. The top six go straight to the playoffs, while seventh through tenth fight through the play-in for the last two spots.

Round 7 on 22 October carries both the first Turkish derby, Anadolu Efes against Beşiktaş, and the first Serbian derby between Partizan and Crvena Zvezda. The first Israeli derby arrives in Round 11 on 12 November when Hapoel meets Maccabi, and Round 13 on 20 November is a rematch of the 2026 title game as Olympiacos hosts Real Madrid. Those dates are worth marking now, because derby games tend to distort rotations in ways that punish a set-and-forget fantasy roster.

After the regular season, the Play-In Showdown decides the final two playoff berths before four best-of-five series, and the campaign ends with the 2027 Final Four.

What does the new SuperCup change for fantasy managers?

Euroleague Basketball approved the SuperCup as a new competition, with the first edition expected on 18 and 19 September 2026, and said further details on format and participating teams would follow. Sportando reported that the tournament will be held in Dubai and feature Olympiacos, Real Madrid, Fenerbahçe and host club Dubai Basketball, though that lineup was not confirmed in the official announcements.

Nothing from those two days counts toward your fantasy score. What they give you is six days of evidence before Round 1: who starts, who closes, and which summer signing the coach trusts. If the reported four-team field holds, that evidence covers three of the clubs most likely to eat your budget.

How does EuroLeague Fantasy scoring work?

Managers get 100 credits to build a squad of four guards, four forwards, two centres and one head coach. Scores come from the real Performance Index Rating a player posts in EuroLeague games, and a player’s price is his credit value, updated after every round based on his most recent performance.

The pricing algorithm is the part most managers underuse. Cheap players tend to see large percentage gains from a single good game, while expensive stars have to keep posting high scores just to hold their value. Between rounds you can sell up to four players, and trading the coach counts against that limit, so it is four players or three players plus the coach.

Four trades against 38 rounds is a tight budget. It rewards identifying stable minutes early rather than chasing whoever posted 30 PIR last Thursday.

Which rosters got too crowded to trust?

Olympiacos is the clearest case. The champions already had Sasha Vezenkov, who led the league in performance index rating at 23.1 and won the Alphonso Ford Top Scorer Trophy at 19.4 points per game, plus Nikola Milutinov, the 2025-26 rebounding leader, and Final Four MVP Evan Fournier. Then they added Jean Montero, the playoffs MVP who ranked among the league leaders in PIR per minute at 30.0 prorated over 40 minutes with a 3.6 assist-to-turnover ratio, and Codi Miller-McIntyre, who set the single-season assist record last year.

That is the reigning PIR leader, the rebounding leader, the assist leader and the playoffs MVP in one rotation, with Thomas Walkup, Cory Joseph, Tyler Dorsey and Kostas Papanikolaou behind them. Somebody’s minutes are going down. Bartzokas will not play seven guards.

Hapoel Tel Aviv is the other warning. BasketNews listed twenty-one players under contract in mid-August, including Vasilije Micic, Tomas Satoransky, Elijah Bryant, Zach LeDay and Dan Oturu. Depth like that produces good basketball and terrible fantasy predictability.

Anadolu Efes sits in between. Efes brought in Mike James, the EuroLeague’s all-time leading scorer and a former MVP, and paired him with former Monaco teammates Matthew Strazel and Jordan Loyd. Add PJ Dozier and Isaia Cordinier and the backcourt has five players who all expect the ball.

Where do the minutes open up?

Žalgiris made the cleanest fantasy signing of the summer. Jonas Valančiūnas arrives on a deal through 2028 into a frontcourt where Marek Blaževič and Ažuolas Tubelis are the alternatives. A centre with that profile and no real competition for the position is the shape of player PIR loves.

ASVEL is the opposite kind of opportunity. Tony Parker takes over a roster that listed only eight players in mid-August, with Patty Mills, Joel Bolomboy and Yves Pons among the arrivals. The team will probably struggle, but whoever plays 30 minutes on a thin roster produces counting stats.

Valencia is worth a long look too. TJ Shorts, the 2025-26 play-in MVP, signed through 2028 and joins Mario Saint-Supery and Omari Moore in a backcourt that has room for one clear lead guard.

What does Beşiktaş replacing Monaco mean for the pool?

Monaco finished eighth last season at 22-16 and was replaced by Beşiktaş, which received a one-year wildcard, while Paris Basketball took the other wildcard after finishing sixteenth. Monaco’s better fantasy assets scattered rather than disappeared: James and Strazel to Efes, Elie Okobo to Dubai.

Beşiktaş arrives under Dušan Alimpijević with Scottie Wilbekin, Jaylen Nowell, Furkan Korkmaz, Devon Dotson, Ante Žižić and Wenyen Gabriel. None of them carries EuroLeague pricing history from a Beşiktaş context, which is exactly where the price algorithm creates value. A cheap opening credit value plus a genuine starting role is the combination that funds a superstar elsewhere on your roster.

The first Turkish derby on 22 October will tell you quickly whether Alimpijević has settled on a rotation or is still auditioning.

What to do before Round 1

Watch the SuperCup lineups, then watch who closes games in the opening double week rather than who starts them. Buy minutes on thin rosters, be sceptical of deep ones, and keep two of your four trades in reserve for the first genuine injury.
