In recent days, Joel Embiid has become the favorite to win the MVP title, surpassing Nikola Jokic in the NBA’s Kia MVP Ladder.

Although many fans believe that this is really the right year for Embiid to aim for this prestigious individual award, Gilbert Arenas doesn’t share the same opinion and has recently highlighted a weakness in the Cameroonian’s game.

I haven’t noticed Embiid’s improvement this year. He takes breaks on several possessions and often arrives in the last quarter without energy. There’s nothing that suggests he’s my favorite to win the MVP title

Although it’s not fair to count Joel Embiid out of the MVP race, it’s also true that despite being the league’s top scorer with 33.5 points per game, he doesn’t even rank among the top ten in points scored in the last quarter, with only 6.6 per game, but this may be the only flaw in an incredible season.
