Kevin Durant comments on the boos during his return to OKC

In his return to Oklahoma City, Kevin Durant scores 35 points and leads his team to victory, but also receives boos from his former home crowd

The fans of the Oklahoma City Thunder have not forgotten Durant’s departure in 2016, when he signed with the Golden State Warriors in the off-season.

The Suns win 128-118 on the road in OKC, with Kevin Durant scoring 35 points on 13/21 shooting along with 5 rebounds and 5 assists.

I understand the boos, I had a special meaning to this community. At first, I didn’t understand… it’s okay, there are still people who don’t like that I left the franchise, but they also showed me affection this time more than others

Kevin Durant

Durant also reflected on the importance of the Thunder and Oklahoma City in his growth not only in the NBA, but also as a person, having been drafted by the Seattle Supersonics at just 18 years old, who then became the OKC Thunder with whom he spent his first 8 years.

I’ve met so many people that changed my life here and my way of thinking about certain things. I’m grateful to have been a part of this organization

Kevin Durant

The boos didn’t seem to affect Durant’s game, as the Suns have yet to lose with him on the court: sixth win in six games and a record of 43 wins and 35 losses, bringing them closer to the Playoffs. The Clippers are now two games behind with a record of 41-38.
