All-Star Game 2024 Rules

The rules for the 2024 All-Star Game are straightforward: the 73rd NBA All-Star Game will witness the return of the epic clash between the Eastern Conference and the Western Conference, following the traditional scoring system with four quarters of 12 minutes each.

The voting process to select NBA All-Stars will remain unchanged, with 12 players chosen from each conference. The captains of the NBA All-Star Game teams will still be designated to lead their respective teams and will be the starting All-Stars from each conference who receive the most votes.

The 2024 NBA All-Star Game will be broadcast on TNT in the United States and will reach fans in over 200 countries and territories, with coverage in more than 50 languages. Indianapolis will host the NBA All-Star Game for the first time since 1985.

Official All-Star Game 2024 Uniforms

For the seventh consecutive year, Jordan Brand will outfit the league’s stars for the NBA All-Star Game 2024. The Jordan Brand NBA All-Star 2024 jerseys, equipped with Nike Dri-FIT ADV technology, will make their on-court debut during the 73rd NBA All-Star Game on Sunday, February 18 at 8:00 PM ET in Indianapolis.

Designed with the concept that basketball has roots in Indiana, the jerseys boast a nostalgic and heritage look, characterized by a tonal variation on the classic red and blue with cream lettering. The vertical stripes draw inspiration from the iconic Pacers uniforms of the late ’90s and early 2000s. Here are all the details:

  • The NBA All-Star 2024 logo is prominently featured on the front of the jersey under the “All-Star” lettering, incorporating racing stripes as a tribute to the host city.
  • The five stars on each side of the jersey represent the five players from each team on the court at any given moment.
  • The logo is also present on the shorts, encircled by a large circle, paying homage to Monument Circle in downtown Indianapolis, surrounded by the proud Soldiers and Sailors Monument at the heart of the “Circle City.”
  • The six stars revolving around the NBA All-Star logo on each side of the shorts symbolize the 12 All-Stars on each roster.
  • “73rd Annual” is highlighted on the jersey as an anthem graphic above the black jock tag.
  • The “ASG” ligature mark on the belt buckle draws inspiration from the graphic origins of basketball.

With the return to the East vs. West format, the jerseys celebrate the league and the rich basketball history of Indiana. The 2024 NBA All-Stars will also be clad in old-school Jordan Brand warm-up jackets inspired by the Hoosier state.

2024 NBA All-Star Game starters

The league has announced the starters and captains for the NBA All-Star Game 2024: LeBron James is the captain of the Western Conference, and joining him in the starting lineup are Luka Doncic, Kevin Durant, Nikola Jokic, and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander. Giannis Antetokounmpo, on the other hand, will lead the Eastern Conference alongside Joel Embiid, Jayson Tatum, Damian Lillard, and Tyrese Haliburton.

For the first time since 2013, Steph Curry will not be part of the All-Star Game.It is worth noting that based on his on-court performance and that of the entire Golden State team, the absence of the Chef makes complete sense, especially in the context of passing the torch to two future MVPs like Luka Doncic and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander.
