Answering to a journalist about his official position on the pitch, the Latvian replied:
I think the game now is kind of open. There’s no specific positions any more as there used to be. I play a lot on the perimeter. We find ways how to utilize my skill set. If it’s a small forward, power forward or center, it doesn’t really matter.
The statement was supported by Mavericks coach Rick Carlisle, who spent words of esteem on his star. In fact, the coach said that all young people who aspire to become successful centers should take Porzingis as an example to follow.
