Giannis Antetokounmpo to the Knicks: Is the Trade just delayed?
The potential arrival of Giannis Antetokounmpo to the Knicks remains at the center of speculation, despite previous talks between the Bucks and New York ending without agreement
Until recently, Giannis Antetokounmpo was being linked to several teams for the 2027 Free Agency, at the expiration of his contract with the Bucks. According to Shams Charania, however, his future could already be taking shape.
Sources told ESPN that New York has emerged as the only team Giannis Antetokounmpo desires outside of Milwaukee during the offseason, and the Knicks and Bucks engaged in talks for a period of time.

A player like Antetokounmpo would be tempting for any team, and the Knicks are no exception. According to the well-known NBA insider, in addition to the interest shown by New York, Giannis himself is reportedly very attracted to the idea of playing in the Big Apple, even going so far as to name it the only team he would want to join if he decided to leave the Bucks.
There has long been a belief that Giannis’ days in Milwaukee are numbered. Whether it happens this year, during the season, or next summer, it’s only a matter of time.

Moreover, the two franchises were in contact last summer, specifically in August, discussing a possible trade to complete the deal before the start of training camps. However, the Knicks’ offer was not considered sufficient by the Bucks to part ways with their superstar.
He knows he no longer wants to stay in Milwaukee, but he’s afraid to say it. And the Bucks know it too – they’re just pretending otherwise

In the past, Giannis Antetokounmpo had always denied rumors linking him to other teams, but today this possibility seems more tangible than a few seasons ago. It remains to be seen whether the Greek star will wear a new jersey in the coming years or continue his journey in Milwaukee, further cementing his role as the franchise’s icon.
