Anthony Edwards Injury: “It Doesn’t Look Serious”

Edwards leaves with a hamstring issue, but Julius Randle steps up as a leader to carry the Timberwolves to victory

Anthony Edwards, Minnesota Timberwolves, esulta nel match di Regular Season contro i Memphis Grizzlies

The excitement surrounding the Minnesota Timberwolves’ home opener was cut short far too soon. After just three minutes of play, Anthony Edwards was forced to leave the court with a right hamstring injury. According to the team, it was a precautionary decision, but enough to quiet the buzz inside the Target Center.

There are no updates yet on Anthony’s injury, but it doesn’t look serious.

The crowd held its breath when Edwards, after a drive to the basket and a non-call on contact, gestured for a foul and then walked off shortly after. Despite initial concern, the Timberwolves have not released any alarming reports.

Ant’s a luxury, but I think he’ll be fine. It’s happened before – usually he’s ready to go the next day.

With their star sidelined, it was Julius Randle who took charge. The former Knick delivered a 31-point, 6-assist performance, leading Minnesota to a 114–110 win over a short-handed Indiana Pacers team.

He was fantastic. We decided to put the ball in his hands, and every time he came up with the right play. He handled the key moments with poise and composure.

In short, Minnesota proved it can hold its own even without its franchise player. Of course, things are very different with Edwards on the floor – but for now, the team sent a clear message: they’re not a one-man show.

Next up: a test against Nikola Jokic’s Denver Nuggets, where the Timberwolves will need the same energy – and, hopefully, Ant back in uniform.
