Raptors in Crisis: RJ Barrett’s Frustration Boils Over
The Canadian forward, visibly upset after the loss to the Rockets, couldn’t contain his frustration on the way back to the locker room
After an impressive season-opening win against the Atlanta Hawks, the Toronto Raptors have stumbled into a four-game losing streak, the latest setback coming in a 121–139 home loss to the Houston Rockets.
Following the game, RJ Barrett let his emotions get the best of him, kicking a “Wet Floor” sign as he walked off the court – a clear sign that morale inside the Raptors’ locker room is far from ideal.
Barrett finished the night with 10 points on 4-for-11 shooting, a disappointing performance for the Canadian swingman. But in truth, the entire team is struggling. The Raptors currently rank 13th in offensive rating – a respectable number – yet their defense is a major concern, with only Brooklyn performing worse in that category under coach Darko Rajaković.
It’s been a rough start to the season for a team that entered the year with legitimate playoff aspirations, especially after the signing of Brandon Ingram last February and the continued growth of Scottie Barnes, RJ Barrett, and Immanuel Quickley.
