The Booker-Green Duo Shines in Debut: “He’s a Game Changer”
Devin Booker praises Jalen Green after a 29-point debut performance in the Suns’ win over the Clippers
This was the debut Jalen Green had been dreaming of. After missing the first eight games of the season with a right hamstring strain, the new Phoenix Suns guard exploded for 29 points in just 23 minutes, shooting 10-for-20 from the field and 6-for-13 from three, leading his team to a 115-102 win over the Los Angeles Clippers.
Acquired from Houston during the chaotic seven-team offseason trade that sent Kevin Durant to the Rockets, Green wasted no time showing why Phoenix wanted him so badly – energy, skill, and fearlessness all on display.
He’s a special talent, and tonight we just saw a glimpse of what he can do. He knows how to move in space, attack gaps, and make efficient plays. He changes games – brings us versatility and energy on both ends.
Devin Booker
Booker, as always, was the Suns’ anchor – 24 points, steady leadership, and total control in key moments. But it was his chemistry with Green that stole the show. Their fast-paced, fluid offense overwhelmed a Clippers team missing James Harden and Kawhi Leonard, particularly during a 40-23 third-quarter surge that sealed the game.
Grayson Allen added 18 points despite battling illness, while Royce O’Neale chipped in 17, including 11 in the third quarter. The Suns built their largest lead at 104-79 after a clutch three-pointer from Allen.
On the other side, Ivica Zubac did his best with 23 points and 11 rebounds, but the short-handed Clippers fell to their third straight loss, hampered by poor shooting and limited depth.
It was also a tough return to Phoenix for Bradley Beal, who was booed by Suns fans and finished with 5 points on 2-for-14 shooting.
For the Suns, though, this night belonged entirely to Jalen Green. A sparkling debut that not only delivered a win but hinted at something greater – a dynamic partnership with Devin Booker that could make Phoenix one of the most dangerous teams in the Western Conference Playoff race.
