Scottie Barnes like Nikola Jokić: “All-Star!”

Scottie Barnes makes Raptors history: 25 rebounds, a triple-double, and a performance that puts him in the same company as Nikola Jokic

Toronto enjoyed an unforgettable night thanks to Scottie Barnes. In the win over the Golden State Warriors, the young star posted 23 points, 25 rebounds, and 10 assists, recording the seventh triple-double of his career and his first of the season.

Those 25 rebounds tied the franchise record, matching the mark set by Bismack Biyombo in 2016, and placed Barnes among a very exclusive group of NBA players over the last 40 years to record at least 20 points, 25 rebounds, and 10 assists in a single game, alongside Nikola Jokic.

A historic night and a performance for the ages

At just 24 years and 149 days old, Barnes became the youngest player since 1957 to achieve such a stat line, drawing comparisons to legends like Maurice Stokes. His night was further highlighted by nine offensive rebounds, a figure that places him alongside Chris Bosh, Chris Boucher, and Amir Johnson among the most productive offensive rebounders in Raptors history.

The decisive comeback and rebounding dominance

Toronto capitalized fully on the Warriors’ struggles: 21 Golden State turnovers, converted into 35 points, the highest total the Warriors have allowed this season. In the final minute and a half of regulation, the Raptors erased the deficit with a 9-2 run, forcing overtime before delivering the decisive blow.

The victory snapped a five-game home losing streak and reaffirmed Barnes’ role as the Raptors’ emerging leader.
