The NBA has officially announced the eight participants for the 2026 3-Point Contest, one of the highlights of All-Star Saturday Night. The competition will take place on Saturday, February 14, at the Intuit Dome in Inglewood.

The selected cast brings together elite shooters, established All-Stars, and fresh faces, promising a high-level showdown.

Official 3-Point Contest 2026 Roster

The participant list, revealed live on NBC, includes:

  • Devin Booker (Phoenix Suns)
  • Kon Knueppel (Charlotte Hornets)
  • Damian Lillard (Portland Trail Blazers)
  • Tyrese Maxey (Philadelphia 76ers)
  • Donovan Mitchell (Cleveland Cavaliers)
  • Jamal Murray (Denver Nuggets)
  • Bobby Portis Jr. (Milwaukee Bucks)
  • Norman Powell (Miami Heat)

Five of them – Booker, Maxey, Mitchell, Murray, and Powell – are also 2026 NBA All-Stars, highlighting how three-point shooting remains a central skill in the modern game.

Booker and Lillard, Chasing History

Among the most anticipated participants is Damian Lillard, two-time consecutive 3-Point Contest champion in 2023 and 2024. The Blazers’ point guard, a nine-time All-Star, has a chance to make history: a victory would allow him to tie the record of three titles, held by Larry Bird and Craig Hodges.

Devin Booker, the 2018 winner, returns with the ambition of bringing the trophy back to Phoenix. Two different profiles, same goal: to confirm themselves among the league’s best pure shooters.

Debuts and Curiosities: Knueppel Could Rewrite the Record Books

The 2026 edition also marks the debut in the competition for Kon Knueppel, Tyrese Maxey, Jamal Murray, and Bobby Portis Jr.

Particularly, the spotlight is on Knueppel, who could become the first rookie in history to win the 3-Point Contest. A challenging task, but not impossible, in a context that has often rewarded composure and rhythm over status and experience.

Contest Format and Rules

The State Farm 3-Point Contest consists of two rounds. Each participant has 70 seconds to score as many points as possible from different spots beyond the arc.

  • First round: the top three scores advance to the final
  • Final: the highest score determines the winner

A fast-paced, intense, and often unpredictable format, where every mistake can be decisive.
