Stephen Curry leads Warriors comeback: “For one night, we were ourselves again”

The Warriors erase a 13-point deficit in the fourth quarter behind Stephen Curry’s 35-point night to keep their playoff push alive in the NBA Play-In Tournament

The Golden State Warriors steal the spotlight with a dramatic comeback and secure advancement in the next stage of the NBA Play-In Tournament, defeating the Los Angeles Clippers 126-121 in an electric night in Inglewood.

Stephen Curry takes over the second half: 35 points and the clutch three

Once again, it is Stephen Curry who makes the difference. The No. 30 finishes with 35 points, but completely flips the game in the second half: 27 points after halftime, capped by his seventh three-pointer of the night to break the game open with 50 seconds remaining.

After a difficult first half (just 8 points on 2-of-9 shooting), Curry ignites in the third quarter, pouring in 16 points in just six minutes to keep Golden State alive when the Clippers looked ready to pull away.

The perfect fourth quarter: a comeback from -13

Trailing 98-85 with less than 10 minutes remaining, the Warriors engineer a stunning comeback, closing the game on a 16-6 run. A major boost also comes from Al Horford, who hits four huge three-pointers, three of them in the decisive moments of the final period.

Golden State also manages to contain Kawhi Leonard, who does not score in the fourth quarter until the final 16 seconds. A detail that reflects the defensive intensity of Steve Kerr’s group.

Kerr summarized the performance after the game:

For one night, we were ourselves again. We are champions again

Experience and pride: Warriors one win away from the playoffs

Despite a 37-45 regular-season record and the absence of Jimmy Butler, sidelined since January, Golden State once again shows it still has true playoff DNA. Alongside Curry, Draymond Green leads a group that knows exactly how to handle these moments.

Now the team heads to Phoenix: a spot in the NBA Playoffs is on the line against the reigning champions, the Oklahoma City Thunder.
