Fight in Las Vegas between Bam Adebayo and Tyler Herro
A shocking incident in Las Vegas as Bam Adebayo allegedly struck Tyler Herro in the face during a confrontation stemming from social media criticism following Herro’s departure from the Miami Heat. Neither franchise has commented publicly at this time
What appeared to be a routine day at the NBA Summer League turned into one of the most shocking incidents of the offseason. According to ESPN, and as later reported by multiple U.S. outlets, former Miami Heat teammates Bam Adebayo and Tyler Herro were allegedly involved in a heated altercation that escalated into a physical confrontation.
The incident reportedly took place Friday morning inside a gym at Resorts World in Las Vegas, where teams are conducting activities related to the Summer League.
The altercation after social media criticism
According to reports, the confrontation began over comments attributed to Tyler Herro following his trade to the Milwaukee Bucks. In the days after the deal, screenshots of alleged private messages circulated online in which Herro reportedly questioned Bam Adebayo‘s defensive commitment and even wondered whether he deserved a contract worth roughly $60 million per season.
Adebayo allegedly decided to confront his former teammate directly.
According to The Athletic, the two crossed paths in the gym in front of Herro’s AAU team. After a brief exchange of words, Adebayo allegedly approached Herro and punched him in the face, reportedly leaving a small mark beneath his left eye.
According to the same report, Herro’s AAU coach immediately stepped in, while the Bucks guard reportedly continued shouting at his former teammate before security personnel separated the two. Both players reportedly left the facility on their own.
Herro’s comments before the news became public
A few hours after the alleged incident, before reports had surfaced publicly, Tyler Herro was interviewed during the Summer League matchup between the Heat and Bucks.
Speaking about his relationship with his former franchise, he said:
There’s nothing but love for Miami. I saw some of the players again, the coaching staff, Chris Quinn, Spo (Erik Spoelstra), and the front office. Everything is good. It was simply time for both sides to move on and start fresh, and I think everyone is happy with that decision

Herro also added:
Miami is an organization that’s always chasing championships – that’s just part of the business. I know what I’m worth and what I can bring. I just have to keep working, stay healthy, and represent my new team the best I can

After the game, Herro greeted several young Bucks players and spent a few moments talking with Jaime Jaquez Jr. before leaving the arena without commenting on the reported incident.
No comment from the Heat or Bucks
Asked about the reported altercation, the Miami Heat released a brief statement:
We are aware of the reported incident and will have no further comment

The Milwaukee Bucks also declined to comment. Head coach Taylor Jenkins, speaking with SiriusXM NBA Radio, simply said he had no comment, explaining that he was not familiar with all the details surrounding the reported incident.
At this time, no official disciplinary action has been announced. It remains to be seen whether the NBA will investigate the reported altercation between two players who spent seven seasons together with the Miami Heat before Herro’s trade to Milwaukee brought their partnership to an end.
