While driving near Kaseya Center, shortly after being picked up from Miami International Airport by members of the Heat staff, the 31-year-old was first struck by a massive welcome billboard and then by the towering bronze statue honoring Dwyane Wade.

The two-time MVP’s ambitions, however, extend far beyond embracing the franchise’s tradition. Giannis has never hidden his desire to form a Big Three in South Beach alongside Bam Adebayo and LeBron James. However, LeBron’s decision to sign with the Philadelphia 76ers forced the Heat to adjust their plans and rethink the structure of the roster.
