Chris Finch believes the Minnesota Timberwolves made a mistake in how they used Anthony Edwards last season. The T-Wolves coach explained that using him as a point guard for long stretches ultimately made him easier to defend, especially in the Playoffs.
We probably did Anthony a disservice last year at times by having him play point guard. It ended up costing us. He did a really good job, but in the Playoffs it was just double-team after double-team. We need to get him back to his natural position, playing off the ball. We didn’t create enough catch-and-shoot threes for him

That is precisely why the arrival of LaMelo Ball could prove decisive, providing the offensive glue that Minnesota was missing.

Finch also hopes that Ball’s presence can maximize Rudy Gobert, creating more opportunities to find the French center above the rim and turn him into a consistent threat in the paint.
