The hype surrounding the new Philadelphia 76ers continues to grow, but Jaylen Brown seems focused on one thing above all: getting better. After weeks of discussion about the superteam Philadelphia has assembled, the former Boston Celtics star explained what excites him most about the upcoming season. And no, it has nothing to do with the spotlight.

During a Twitch stream, Brown explained that he is eager to share a locker room with LeBron James, viewing it as a unique opportunity to grow both as a player and as a person.

Jaylen Brown: “Playing with LeBron is an incredible opportunity”

Wearing the black 76ers jersey for the first time, Brown spoke with great enthusiasm about the season ahead.

I’m super excited for this season. We have LeBron, and what an incredible opportunity that represents

Brown knows full well that the spotlight will be on Philadelphia constantly and that the criticism will be unavoidable.

People are going to say whatever they want, and there’s going to be a ton of media noise throughout the season. But I see it primarily as an opportunity to learn. One of the things I love most is learning

The Sixers’ new No. 7 then explained that his approach will not change based on what other people think.

Regardless of what people think, I love learning. Having the opportunity to learn from one of the greatest players ever, if not the greatest, is something special. I can learn on the court, off the court and have experiences that will add to my personal growth

Not just LeBron: Brown wants to absorb everything from his new teammates

Naturally, the arrival of LeBron James, who signed a two-year, $8 million contract, has dominated the offseason headlines. Before that, it was Jaylen Brown himself who shook up the NBA with the blockbuster trade that sent him from the Celtics to the 76ers.

According to several insiders, it was Brown’s arrival that convinced LeBron to choose Philadelphia following his departure from the Los Angeles Lakers.

Now the two will be tasked with bringing a franchise that has not reached the Conference Finals since 2001 back to the top of the NBA. The goal is clear: try to win the championship that Philadelphia has been waiting for for more than 40 years.

But Brown is also eager to learn from the rest of the group.

There’s going to be a lot to learn from Joel Embiid, Tyrese Maxey, VJ Edgecombe, veterans like Kentavious Caldwell-Pope and Anfernee Simons. It’s going to be a really fun period

Beyond the expectations and pressure that will follow the 76ers throughout the season, Jaylen Brown’s words reveal a player still eager to challenge himself. And if someone with his résumé is willing to learn from LeBron James, Philadelphia may have found much more than just another superstar.
