Dunkest NBA 2026/27: all the new features

The new Dunkest NBA 2026/27 season brings several new features, some of which have been requested by the community for years. We listened to your feedback, suggestions and requests, and we can finally introduce some important changes that will make the game even more complete.

The main changes concern the Draft and Contest, with more freedom when building your teams and even more opportunities to compete for prizes throughout the season.

Draft: larger and more customizable rosters

Let’s start with one of the features you’ve asked for the most in recent years: Draft rosters are getting bigger.

Until last season, the roster consisted of 5 Guards, 5 Forwards and 3 Centers. Starting this season, each league can instead choose to increase the number of players available on the roster, up to a maximum of two additional slots at each position.

You can therefore have up to:

• 7 Guards
• 7 Forwards
• 5 Centers

Using all the additional slots will not be mandatory: each Draft can choose the size of its roster, adapting it to the number of participants and the type of experience it wants to create.

More players available inevitably means deeper Drafts, more room for gambles and even greater importance placed on the choices made in the final stages of the auction.

The Stand becomes a true extended bench

The other major change concerns the Stand, which completely changes its function this season.

The Bench slots will be unlocked and will effectively work as an extension of your regular bench.

In practice, if you have a player on the Bench who has not yet taken the floor, you can use him to replace a player on your roster who will not play, for example because of an injury, or a player who has already played his game but disappointed.

It’s another way to make adjustments to your lineup during the day and get the most out of your entire available roster.

PLEASE NOTE: players left on the Stand will not receive any score. If a player remains on the Stand at the end of the Game Day, his score will not be counted toward the team total.

Contest: Monthly Championships are coming

The changes aren’t limited to the Draft. The Dunkest Contest is changing as well, with the goal of giving everyone something to play for throughout the entire season.

The first new feature is the Monthly Championships.

Alongside the traditional World Championship overall standings, there will be mini championships lasting one month each, with their own standings and dedicated prizes.

This means that a difficult start or a few bad Game Days won’t compromise everything: every month will be a new opportunity to get back into the game and compete for a prize.

Not one, but Two Dunkest Cups

And that’s not all, because starting this season, there will be two Dunkest Cups.

A new feature designed above all to keep the competition alive until the very end. Being far from the top of the overall standings will no longer mean having few opportunities to take home a prize.

Between Game Day prizes, Monthly Championships and two Dunkest Cups, there will be more goals and more opportunities to compete throughout the entire year.

The philosophy is simple: a Dunkest season shouldn’t be decided after just a few weeks. Even if the overall standings go badly, there will always be a new goal to chase.

The 2026/27 season is about to begin. And this year, you’ll have even more ways to play it all the way to the end.

Match Predictor: predict the NBA results

Among the new features is also the Match Predictor, the Dunkest quiz that lets you test your predictions on every NBA game of each Game Day. The goal is simple: pick the winning team in every matchup and try to predict as many results as possible to climb the Overall Standings.

Predictions can be entered or changed until one minute before the start of each individual game, even when the Game Day has already begun, and they can be saved and completed at different times. Each correct prediction is worth 10 points, while an incorrect prediction earns no points. At the end of the season, the first-place finisher will receive a €300 Amazon Gift Card, while second place will receive a €150 Amazon Gift Card.
