Brooks-Collins, sparks fly early in Preseason

New season, same Dillon Brooks: it took only a few minutes for him to ignite a confrontation with Collins and pick up a technical

Dillon Brooks Vs John Collins

It took less than five minutes of preseason basketball for Dillon Brooks to find himself at the center of the first confrontation of the season. With 7:23 left in the first quarter, Brooks and Collins were battling for position under the basket, with the Suns player also using his forearm to keep his opponent away.

After Collins grabbed the offensive rebound, Brooks tried to reach for the ball from behind. Collins turned around and grabbed him by the neck, before Brooks managed to break free.

The officials initially called a double technical, but after reviewing the play they changed the ruling: a Flagrant 1 on Collins and a technical on Brooks, with no ejections.

New season, same Brooks: after receiving 17 technical fouls last year, he already has one in preseason. For the Regular Season, though, the count will reset to zero.
