Perkins puts pressure on Murray: “Jokic can’t do everything”

Jamal Murray just had the best NBA season of his career, but Perkins is not satisfied. The message to the Canadian is clear, especially with the Playoffs in mind

25.4 points and 7.1 assists per game, his first All-Star selection and a spot on the All-NBA Third Team. For many, that would be a season to remember, but for Kendrick Perkins, what Jamal Murray accomplished still is not enough.

The former NBA center, now an ESPN analyst, challenged the Denver Nuggets guard to raise his level even further and help the team get back into championship contention.

And the reason is pretty simple: according to Perkins, Nikola Jokic is already doing more than enough.

We need him to take an even bigger leap. We’re talking about an All-NBA level. At this point, Jokic is already doing more than enough. When are we going to see Jamal Murray consistently raise his level throughout the entire Playoffs?

Kendrick Perkins

Jokic will keep being Jokic, and there is little doubt about that. The real question is how much Murray will be able to help him when the games truly start to matter. For Perkins, that is exactly where the Denver Nuggets’ ambitions will be decided.
