Giannis and Adebayo, the new duo giving Heat fans hope
Giannis Antetokounmpo has found an important ally in Bam Adebayo as he begins his new chapter in Miami. The two spoke after the Preseason game against the Pelicans
After 13 seasons with the Milwaukee Bucks, Giannis Antetokounmpo is beginning to experience a completely different environment. With the Miami Heat, he has found a new system, new teammates and, above all, Bam Adebayo, with whom he forms one of the most intriguing frontcourt duos in the NBA.
The first signs have come during the Preseason, and after the win over the New Orleans Pelicans, the two-time MVP explained how much Adebayo is helping him settle in.
He’s a great communicator. He plays hard, he’s physical. He talks to me a lot during the game and tries to make me feel as comfortable as possible. It’s great being on the floor with him, and offensively, he’s fun to play with

How the two coexist will be one of the most interesting things to watch during the season. Giannis brings athleticism, physicality and a constant presence around the rim, while Adebayo can contribute with his versatility, especially on defense, and his ability to facilitate for his teammates.
There’s still work to do. In these first two games, we’ve only had a couple of first halves to really figure out how we fit together on the floor against other opponents. As the Preseason goes on, we’ll play more minutes and for longer stretches, and we’ll build that chemistry

And Giannis knows very well that it will take a little patience. After spending virtually his entire career in Milwaukee, adjusting to a new environment is not something that can happen overnight.
I feel a little more comfortable, but I’m not there yet. I’ve played more than 900 games with the Bucks and two with the Heat. It takes a little time to feel completely comfortable

There is certainly no shortage of qualities that could make this pairing work. Now it will be about finding the right chemistry and understanding how well the rest of the team can take advantage of having two such important players on the floor.
