Cooper Flagg’s shoulder injury: recovery timeline
Cooper Flagg leaves the game after a hard foul by Nesmith. An MRI reveals the extent of the injury
32 points in the opener against Houston, then another strong performance abruptly cut short by a fall. Cooper Flagg’s second NBA season had started in the best possible way, but the Dallas Mavericks talent will now be sidelined after suffering an injury against the Indiana Pacers.
It all happened in the second quarter, when Aaron Nesmith committed a flagrant foul on Flagg on a fast break. The 19-year-old landed hard on his left shoulder and, after trying to play through it, left the game for good.
Up to that point, he had already recorded 14 points, 6 assists, 5 rebounds, 3 steals and a block in just 17 minutes.

An MRI performed Saturday morning revealed a mild left shoulder sprain, forcing Dallas to rule Flagg out of its home game against the San Antonio Spurs.
The Mavericks also announced that he will be reevaluated next week, without providing a specific return date at this time.
