Stephen Curry Gets Emotional About Facing Klay Thompson

Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson face off once again. Steph knows these matchups won’t last forever, and he’s making sure to appreciate every opportunity

It’s still strange to see Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson on opposite sides of the court, especially considering everything they accomplished together. The former Splash Brothers faced each other again, this time at Chase Center, where they spent years lighting up the arena with their three-point shooting.

Curry got the upper hand this time, dropping 29 points in just 28 minutes as the Golden State Warriors cruised to a 120-100 win over the Miami Heat. The victory extended Golden State’s winning streak to six games, but the night carried extra meaning with his former teammate back in the building.

After the game, Steph opened up about how surreal it still feels to compete against the player who helped him build one of the most iconic duos in NBA history.

Every game we play against each other is one less game we have left before it’s all over. So you try to appreciate every opportunity, even though there’s always a lot of competitiveness when we’re out there

Curry: “It’s Always Great to See Killer Klay Having Fun”

Thompson, now playing for the Miami Heat, finished the night with 11 points on 3-of-10 shooting against his former team, unable to carry over the momentum from his performance just 24 hours earlier.

Against the Los Angeles Clippers, Klay had delivered the game-winner at the overtime buzzer, a moment that didn’t go unnoticed by Curry.

Steph revealed that he immediately reached out to Draymond Green after watching his former teammate come through in the clutch.

I texted Draymond right after Klay hit that game-winner in overtime. I just wrote, ‘Killer Klay.’ It’s always great to see him having fun

Warriors Make It Six Straight Wins

Beyond the emotions of Thompson’s return, Golden State continued to build momentum with another convincing performance.

The game was tied 53-53 at halftime, but the Warriors took over after the break, outscoring Miami 38-23 in the third quarter to seize control and never look back.

This winning streak is giving us a ton of confidence

Curry’s words sum up just how much things have changed for Golden State. After opening the season with three straight losses, the Warriors have completely turned things around, improving their record to 6-3.

Another win at Chase Center, another step forward for the Warriors. But the night also brought back a familiar feeling of nostalgia: Curry and Thompson sharing the same court once again, only this time wearing different jerseys.
