NBA Christmas Day Special, Finals 2016 Rematch

2016 Christmas Day marks a new chapter of the rivalry between Cavs and Warriors

LeBron James e Stephen Curry all'All Star Game

According to many, 2016 was one of the most beautiful and compelling years in NBA history, with many legendary moments: Kobe’s last match, Warriors’ most wins in regular season’ all-time record, Lebron’s Cavs historical comeback final.

Precisely that Final played between Cleveland and Golden State was chosen as leading match of Christmas Day. One of the most incredible Christmas matches of all time.

Cavs roster is the same that won the Championship. On the other front, Kevin Durant joined Curry, Klay and the other Warriors, giving birth to a never seen before all-star team.

The audience (19000 spectators, Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse in Cleveland wento sold out) watched a continuous show: Durant, Thompson and Curry (the last one unusually dull compared to the other Splash Brothers, scoring only 15 points) combined to score 75 points (the only KD recorded 36 points and 15 rebounds). They immediately made clear which team was the favourite to win the championship.

Cavs too rely on their Big Three: LeBron, Kyrie Irving and Kevin Love. The King ended up with 31 points and 13 rebounds, Irving with a solid DD (25 points and 10 assists) and Love contributed with 20 points.

Both teams felt the match. We witnessed a series of hoops and plays “for the ages”. In a show like that, the end of the match cannot be any different. No spoiler for who didn’t watch the game, we prefer to leave below the higlights. Enjoy it!
