The long-awaited moment has come: the 2022 All-Star Game night!

When does the NBA All-Star Game air?

It will start on February, 19th and, unlike last year, it will last throughout the weekend. The first event will be the Rising Stars Challenge, in a new format. The following day there will be Skill-Challenge, 3-Point Contest and Dunk Contest. On Sunday, it will be the turn of the long-awaited All-Star Game.

All-Star Game Rules

The rules are very simple: the two teams are defined by the captains, namely the two most voted players, one for each Conference.

The format is the same of the last year: the two teams compete for the win of each of the first three quarters and in the last one they’ll have to reach the Final Score without time restrictions.

From December, 25th, 2021 to January, 22nd, 2022 the NBA opened the ballot to let the fans decide the Eastern and Western Conference’ starting five.

The official uniforms for the 2022 edition of the ASG are designed by Jordan for the All-Star match, by Nike for the Rising Stars and by Converse for the Ruffle Celeb Game (Celebrity Game).

The captains of the two teams are LeBron James and Kevin Durant. Nets’ player will not participate in the game because of a physical problem. He will be replaced by Jason Tatum.

2022 All-Star Game Coaches

Monty Williams and Erik Spoelstra will be the Coaches of the event. Thanks to Phoenix Suns 40th win of the season, Williams will be the Coach of Team LeBron. On the bench of Team Durant, instead, there will be the Head Coach of Miami Heat.

Kobe Bryant Trophy

The Kobe Bryant Trophy will be assigned to the player who will win the 2022 MVP title of the All-Star Game. Every part of the trophy is a tribute to Kobe Bryant’s career. It features an 8-sided base with 18 stars, representing his 18 All-Stars selections, and 4 levels of 2, 7, 9 and 11 inches in height, a nod to the 2002, 2007, 2009 and 2011 years in which Kobe won his re ord-tying 4 All-Star MVPs. Additional levels feature stars highlighting his #24 jersey number, #10 Team USA number, 5 championship rings and league MVP award.

The Clorox Clutch Challenge is another big news of the 2022 All-Star Game. It’s a skill game in which the players have to replicate some of the most famous plays of NBA Playoff history.
