AND… WE’RE BACK! We hope you missed us, because we definitely missed you. But most importantly, we all missed our Fantasy Basketball. Let’s cut to the chase and jump straight into our tips for the very first matchday of the 2020-2021 season.

Centers

  • Joel Embiid (Philadelphia 76ers, 18.7 credits): You never really know how many games Embiid is going to play in the regular season, but when he steps on the court he’s always special. Provided he’s healthy, he won’t miss the tip-off, so you should absolutely pick him as the top center for your team.
  • Jonas Valanciunas (Memphis Grizzlies, 12.2 credits): The match-up against the San Antonio Spurs is pretty favorable. Moreover, the absence of Jaren Jackson Jr. means that Valanciunas has to be at his best under the rim: incoming double-double?
  • Al Horford (OKC Thunder, 9.3 credits): If you want a low-cost option, Horford is perfect for you. The Thunder will most certainly struggle through the whole campaign, but the 34-year-old might prove very valuable to our fantasy coaches.

Forwards

  • Domantas Sabonis (Indiana Pacers, 15.3 credits): He’s undoubtedly been last season’s breakout star in our Fantasy Basketball. Now he’s back to full health after missing the Playoffs, so how can you deny him a spot on your team?
  • Christian Wood (Houston Rockets, 11.2 credits): We still don’t know which DeMarcus Cousins will show up and we saw Wood perform very well in this pre-season. The former Piston notched an amazing double-double against the Spurs, scoring 27 points and grabbing 10 rebounds: we warned you, so don’t be surprised if he notches another one.
  • Isaac Okoro (Cleveland Cavaliers, 9.7credits): With Kevin Love probably out due to a calf strain, the rookie is going to be one of the main options for the Cavs on both ends of the floor.

Guards

  • Stephen Curry (Golden State Warriors, 18.3 credits): Steph needs to stay healthy and perform at an MVP level for the Warriors to make the post-season. The season opener against the Nets is a tough task, so rest assured that number 30 will bring his A game.
  • Shai Gilgeous-Alexander (OKC Thunder, 13 credits): With CP3 and Gallinari gone, Shai will have to carry the whole team on his back. He might miss a few more shots, but we expect his stats to blow up during the season. Considering the situation in Houston, the match-up against the Rockets on M1 gives you one more reason to pick him.
  • LaMelo Ball (Charlotte Hornets, 10.5 credits): Even though it was just the pre-season, you can’t help but be impressed by LaMelo’s highlights. The Cavaliers’ defense will definitely give him enough space to shine in his official NBA debut, and we bet he’ll take advantage of that.

Coach

  • Lloyd Pearce (Atlanta Hawks, 8 credits): The new Atlanta Hawks are ready to take the Eastern Conference by storm and the opener against the Bulls gives them a very good chance to kick things off with a win.
