Los Angeles Clippers 2026-2027 guide
From the new leaders to low-cost gambles: everything you need to know about the Los Angeles Clippers from a Dunkest Fantasy Basketball perspective
Without Kawhi Leonard, the Los Angeles Clippers take on a completely different identity. The roster brings together several interesting players, but it lacks a true experienced leader around whom the team can be built.
From a Dunkest perspective, though, this situation could create several opportunities, especially among the cheaper players and those being asked to take on bigger responsibilities.
At the end of the article, you can check out all the guides to the 30 NBA teams by visiting the Guide Index.
Dunkest NBA Fantasy Basketball is the most-played FantaNBA game in Italy, with more than 200,000 fantasy coaches competing every year since 2013 through points, assists and rebounds. It is free and can be played through the iOS app, Android app and Website.
Key players
After years spent as a second option, Darius Garland (G, 13.0 cr.) once again has the keys to the team in his hands. As the primary playmaker, his volume of possessions and assists could increase significantly and, especially with Wagler still looking out of rhythm between Summer League and the first Preseason game, the former Cavalier could be heading toward one of the most productive seasons of his career.
After a long wait, Brandon Ingram (F, 10.0 cr.) has finally become a Clippers player. We are talking about a high-level scorer who, on a roster without many clearly defined offensive hierarchies, can take on a significant share of the possessions. He will not be the one orchestrating the offense, but scoring has never been an issue for him.
Potential surprises
Rui Hachimura (F, 8.5 cr.) could return to a role that fits his skill set much better. With the Lakers, where Doncic, Reaves and LeBron monopolized a large share of the possessions, he was mainly asked to provide physicality and off-ball work. With the Clippers, the situation changes: Rui can become one of the main scoring options, and he already sent a message in his first appearance of the season, finishing with 21 points while shooting over 72% from the field.
If we want to look for a much more under-the-radar name, keep an eye on Baba Miller (F, 4.0 cr.). A 6-foot-11 forward who can also play center, he brings physicality and athleticism and has also shown some interesting flashes from long range. He averaged a double-double in his final college season and also showed encouraging signs in Summer League: at this price, he could become a gamble worth monitoring throughout the Preseason.
Players to avoid
At 38 years old, Brook Lopez (C, 8.0 cr.) could start giving more room to the younger players in the rotation. Last season he posted some of the lowest scoring and rebounding numbers of his recent career and, especially at center, there are more interesting alternatives available at 8 credits.
As for Bradley Beal (G, 9.0 cr.), we already decided to take a chance on him last season, and the result was not convincing. Even during the stretches when he was available and found a place in the starting lineup, his production remained far from his best years. At 9 credits, at least initially, we would rather look elsewhere.
Projected starting five
PG: Darius Garland (Guard, 13.0 Credits)
SG: Bradley Beal (Guard, 9.0 Credits)
SF: Brandon Ingram (Forward, 10.0 Credits)
PF: Rui Hachimura (Forward, 8.5 Credits)
C: Isaiah Jackson (Forward, 5.0 Credits)
Power Ranking
The Clippers give the impression of being a collection of individually interesting players placed within a project that is still difficult to figure out. There is enough talent to produce a few breakout performers and several Dunkest opportunities, but it is much harder to imagine this team competing at a high level in the Western Conference.
For that reason, at least heading into the season, we see them outside the Play-In picture. From a Fantasy standpoint, however, the lack of established hierarchies could be exactly what creates a few interesting surprises.
