The new-look Philadelphia 76ers are scary, but finding the right balance will not be easy: here are the best Dunkest opportunities

Philadelphia has decided to go all-in. Between trades and Free Agency moves, the 76ers have built a roster capable of making a legitimate run at the NBA title, with a window that appears focused mainly on the next two seasons.

At the end of the article, you can check out all the guides to the 30 NBA teams by visiting the Guide Index.

Dunkest NBA Fantasy Basketball is the most-played FantaNBA game in Italy, with more than 200,000 fantasy coaches competing every year since 2013 through points, assists and rebounds. It is free and can be played through the iOS app, Android app and Website.

Key players

Joel Embiid (C, 18.0 cr.) risks leaving all of us with one huge what if at the end of his career, tied to what he might have become without all the physical issues. He has not reached the 50-game mark since the 2022/23 season, but as incurable optimists, we still like to hope for a change in direction.

Especially because, with Drummond gone and Hukporti already out for the season, coach Nurse could ask him to play at least 35 minutes per game, unless the front office completes some last-minute move.

Tyrese Maxey (G, 17.0 cr.) will have more freedom than ever to fire away from beyond the arc, both off the dribble and in catch-and-shoot situations, and adding LeBron James (F, 16.0 cr.) could significantly improve the quality of his looks.

Potential surprises

If Embiid confirms his now-chronic physical issues, Adem Bona (F, 6.5 cr.) would find himself in the ideal situation to give us one value gain after another. Last year’s numbers were affected by competition from Drummond, while the current hierarchy has the Turkish big man as the former MVP’s primary backup in the paint.

Players to avoid

No automatic rejection for Jaylen Brown (F, 14.0 cr.): quite simply, within a machine that still needs plenty of fine-tuning, his integration will involve numerous tactical experiments from Nick Nurse.

It is not out of the question that the best version of these Sixers could use the former Celtic as a defensive stabilizer, thanks to his ability to guard at least four positions, even at the cost of sacrificing some production on the other end.

During the minutes he shares with V.J. Edgecombe (G, 12.0 cr.), we also believe a slight drop in rebounding is likely. That is another reason why we prefer to look elsewhere in such an important price range.

Within the Sixers’ context, however, the real odd man out appears to be Anfernee Simons (G, 8.0 cr.): with a healthy roster, his offensive production seriously risks falling to career-low levels.

Projected starting five

PG: Tyrese Maxey (Guard, 17.0 Credits)

SG: V.J. Edgecombe (Guard, 12.0 Credits)

SF: Jaylen Brown (Forward, 14.0 Credits)

PF: LeBron James (Forward, 16.0 Credits)

C: Joel Embiid (Center, 18.0 Credits)

Power Ranking

Even a starting five like Philadelphia’s will need to be supported by a good enough bench during the Playoffs. They will not necessarily need a fixed 10-man rotation, but at least three reserves capable of providing what the team needs at different stages of games.

Building those alternatives, which will be crucial for the championship dream, will also depend heavily on the work done during the Regular Season.
