Washington Wizards 2026-2027 guide
The Washington Wizards have hit the accelerator, adding stars through the market and using the Draft to compete right away
A completely revamped starting five for the Washington Wizards, with only one player carried over from last season’s lineup. The biggest change, though, is in their ambitions: this team went from rebuilding to wanting to contend in the blink of an eye.

Dunkest NBA Fantasy Basketball is the most-played FantaNBA game in Italy, with more than 200,000 fantasy coaches competing every year since 2013 through points, assists and rebounds. It is free and can be played through the iOS app, Android app and Website.
Key players
We all know the duo that will bring as much experience as uncertainty to Washington. Trae Young (G, 15.5 cr) is available again after being shown the door by Atlanta. His offensive skill set, and especially his two-man game with Anthony Davis (F, 16.0 cr), should generate a huge number of bonuses for both of them, assuming they can both stay healthy.
AJ Dybantsa (F, 14.0 cr) is undoubtedly one of the league’s biggest new attractions. This year’s No. 1 overall pick was always going to draw attention, and what we can say is that the talent is there, while the Wizards clearly selected the player who best fits the roster they have built. His fit with the rest of the group has looked good in the early outings, and Dybantsa is already shaping up to be both the present and the future of this team.
Potential surprises
For the more attentive fans, or simply the more dedicated ones, Kyshawn George (F, 8.0 cr) is already a familiar name. He has often delivered performances well above his credit cost. It is true that there will be much more offensive competition this year, but in the first games of the season he has already shown that he can benefit in terms of assists and rebounds, and in a lineup where he will have to play guard, his physical advantage will often be obvious.
Tre Johnson (G, 5.5 cr) will be asked to provide scoring and pace off the bench, and it would not surprise us if, with a bit more maturity than last year, he turned into this team’s true sixth man. The former No. 6 pick in the 2025 Draft finished last season averaging 12.2 points, and 15 points per game is within reach. If one of the starters is unavailable, he would also be the first player in line to gain more space and minutes.
Players to avoid
Deandre Ayton (C, 9.5 cr) saw his price rise close to the 10-credit mark after a season as a starter with the Lakers, helped in part by the boost provided by Doncic, putting him one credit above starting center Sarr. Coming off the bench will limit his already inconsistent Fantasy impact, and without experienced playmakers in the second unit, it is hard to expect him to help us chase bonuses this season.
Projected starting five
PG: Trae Young (Guard, 15.5 Credits)
SG: Kyshawn George (Forward, 8.0 Credits)
SF: AJ Dybantsa (Forward, 14.0 Credits)
PF: Anthony Davis (Forward, 16.0 Credits)
C: Alex Sarr (Center, 8.5 Credits)
Power Ranking
One of the least interesting rosters in the league last year has become one of the teams worth watching most closely this season. Two All-Stars, a generational talent and two other very good players rounding out the starting five: Washington is ready to surprise and looks like a dangerous wild card with a real chance to earn direct qualification to the Playoffs, as long as the team can stay healthy.
