Nikola Jokic has a dud unlike any in 2,260 days

Nikola Jokic finishes with just 12.25 FPT against Oklahoma City. He hadn’t posted a Dunkest score that low in more than six years

Nikola Jokic Nuggets Playoff NBA 2026

If you have Nikola Jokic on your Dunkest roster, you’ve probably checked his score a couple of times already, just to make sure you read it correctly. 12.25 FPT. Yes, him. The player who costs 30 credits, the one we’re used to seeing pile up fantasy points practically every night.

In the season opener against the Oklahoma City Thunder, the Nuggets center finished with 13 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists, shooting a disastrous 5-for-19 from the field and 1-for-7 from three. Making matters worse was a 1.1-credit drop in value.

One of those nights fantasy managers would like to forget in a hurry. Especially because, digging into the numbers, we discovered something pretty incredible.

Jokic hadn’t done this in 2,260 days!

The last time Jokic posted a regular-season score below 12.25 FPT was August 14, 2020, against the Toronto Raptors. He finished with just 2.50 FPT that night, but there’s one detail to consider: he played only 10 minutes in the final regular-season game of the NBA bubble.

For a similar performance with his usual workload, we have to go back even further: November 30, 2019, against Sacramento, when Jokic totaled 11.25 FPT in more than 36 minutes.

Essentially, it had been almost seven years since we’d seen a night like this from the Serbian star while playing his normal minutes.

Six seasons of unwavering reliability

To understand just how unusual this is, consider that, in the game logs analyzed, Jokic had made 428 consecutive regular-season appearances with more than 12.25 FPT.

And that’s not all. Here’s his lowest Dunkest score in each of the past six seasons:

SeasonLowest FPT
2020/2116.75
2021/2217.00
2022/2325.00
2023/2419.43
2024/2517.85
2025/2620.50

The wildest stat? He never dipped below 25 FPT in the 2022/23 season. That’s practically double what he produced against OKC.

There’s more: his 12.25 FPT ranks as his seventh-lowest score in the 682 regular-season games in the archive consulted, and his worst season opener across the nine seasons available.

The Thunder’s defense certainly played its part. Isaiah Hartenstein, one of the key figures in defending Jokic, explained OKC’s approach:

You have to be disciplined. A player that smart punishes you as soon as you lose focus. I have a ton of respect for him

Isaiah Hartenstein

But beyond giving OKC its due, this remains a truly unusual performance from the Serbian star. And the 0.6 credit drop in value is the classic cherry on top – for anyone who didn’t have him on their roster, of course.

What should you do with Jokic on Dunkest?

There’s only one question now: sell him or keep him? Panicking after a single game would be decidedly premature. This is still Jokic we’re talking about, a player who has given fantasy managers extraordinary consistency over the past six years.

Of course, for anyone who invested 30 credits in him, starting with 12.25 FPT and a drop in value wasn’t exactly the plan.
