Giannis Antetokounmpo trade rumors: what the Bucks are asking for

The potential Giannis Antetokounmpo trade could heat up in the coming days. The Milwaukee Bucks are reportedly looking to acquire additional NBA Draft picks and are exploring multiple options on the trade market

One of the biggest storylines of recent NBA offseasons has been the possibility of a Giannis Antetokounmpo trade. The Milwaukee Bucks superstar, who reportedly came close to changing teams at the last trade deadline, ultimately remained with the franchise that selected him in the 2013 NBA Draft. Even so, a departure during this offseason appears increasingly likely.

According to insider Jake Fischer, the Wisconsin franchise is actively seeking to acquire as many NBA Draft picks as possible ahead of next week’s draft.

The Bucks have informed other teams and agents that they want to acquire multiple draft picks, at least two in addition to the one they already own. The Miami Heat’s No. 13 pick would be particularly appealing if the Florida franchise can finally put together a concrete offer after months of attempts. Beyond Miami’s selection, Milwaukee is also searching for another first-round pick

The latest proposal submitted by the Miami Heat reportedly included Tyler Herro, Kel’el Ware, Jaime Jaquez Jr., and the No. 13 overall pick. Even that package, however, was rejected by Milwaukee.

The Bucks’ request for a third draft selection could potentially be satisfied through a three-team trade involving the Oklahoma City Thunder and the Atlanta Hawks. In that scenario, Milwaukee would receive the No. 8 and No. 17 picks in the draft, along with Buddy Hield. Oklahoma City would acquire the No. 10 pick, while Atlanta would receive the No. 12 selection and Bobby Portis.

The future of the Milwaukee Bucks and Giannis Antetokounmpo appears closely tied to the outcome of next week’s NBA Draft. Once that crucial event has passed, the picture should become much clearer regarding whether one of the most significant blockbuster trades of recent years will finally come to fruition.
