Kevin Durant gave his full endorsement to the trade that sent Jaylen Brown to the 76ers. He also weighed in on LeBron James’ NBA future
There’s a thin line connecting the baseball diamond and the NBA hardwood, and Kevin Durant was the one who drew it. The Houston Rockets forward made a surprise appearance in Philadelphia to take in the MLB All-Star Game at Citizens Bank Park, where he was inevitably stopped by John Clark of NBC Sports Philadelphia.
Between innings, KD didn’t shy away from the biggest storylines of the offseason, starting with the most shocking and controversial move of the summer: Jaylen Brown’s blockbuster trade to the Philadelphia 76ers.
Durant offered a straightforward, no-nonsense assessment of the deal, giving his full approval to the new look of the Pennsylvania franchise.

KD’s comments hit close to home given his own experience with trade speculation. Back in 2022, when Durant requested a trade from the Brooklyn Nets, Jaylen Brown’s name surfaced repeatedly in rumors as a potential centerpiece of a deal.
The former Celtics star now joins an already loaded 76ers roster featuring Joel Embiid and Tyrese Maxey, after the Rockets had reportedly turned down a proposed three-team trade that would have sent Brown to Houston in exchange for Durant and Alperen Sengun.
The conversation then naturally shifted to the biggest storyline of the summer: LeBron James’ future. Once again, Durant responded like a veteran, brushing aside speculation to focus on the greatness of his longtime rival.
