Jaylen Brown opens up about the trade to the 76ers: “I threw my phone”

For Jaylen Brown, a new chapter of his career has begun. After ten seasons with the Boston Celtics, the University of California product was officially introduced by the Philadelphia 76ers and opened up, without holding back, about how he experienced the trade that brought his long run in Boston to an end.

While the trade was something he had already considered a possibility, what left him with a bitter taste was the way everything was handled.

Brown said he felt there was a lack of communication from the franchise and was hurt by some of the rumors that circulated throughout the summer.

The 76ers forward described the past few months as a true “crazy transition”, but also made it clear that he does not want to waste time looking back.

It was an intense period, but a lot of people change cities and jobs every day. I’m not here to complain. Now I just want to play

Maxey was the first to call him

Among the first people to reach out after the trade was Tyrese Maxey, who immediately wanted to welcome his new teammate.

He told me he knew how complicated that moment was, but that they were really happy to have me with them

From that point on, Brown began talking to the rest of the group on a daily basis. He revealed that he regularly speaks with Joel Embiid, VJ Edgecombe, LeBron James and the other players, who are all very active in the team group chat as well.

One of the aspects that excites him the most is the opportunity to share a locker room with LeBron James.

For Brown, it represents a unique opportunity.
