T’Wolves, Rudy Gobert is another question to solve
After LaMelo Ball and the departures of Randle and Naz Reid, Minnesota may have another major roster decision to make
After the arrival of LaMelo Ball and the departures of Randle and Naz Reid, the changes in Minnesota may not be over yet. One name to keep an eye on is Rudy Gobert, who has become one of the Timberwolves’ pillars over the years thanks mainly to his defensive impact and presence in the paint.
The French center is eligible for a contract extension, but at the moment there do not appear to be any concrete steps toward a new deal, according to Jon Krawczynski of The Athletic.
He’s eligible for an extension. So far, I haven’t heard of any movement toward anything imminent

Gobert’s current contract calls for $36.5 million next season and includes a $38 million player option for 2027-28. According to Krawczynski, one possible solution could involve a lower annual salary in exchange for greater long-term security, while also giving the Timberwolves more flexibility in building the roster.
For now, though, there do not appear to be any signs of tension between Gobert and Minnesota. The four-time Defensive Player of the Year returned from France in recent days and immediately joined his teammates to begin preparing for the new season.
