Trades: How to Sell and Buy Players

In Dunkest Fantasy Basketball you can improve your fantasy team at any time by selling and buying players. Here are the tricks to do it better.

Trades Dunkest

In Dunkest Fantasy Basketball you can change your Fantasy Team at any time during the season, to make it more competitive.

How? One of the key features of Dunkest Fantasy basketball is the ability to sell and buy players through operations called Trades.

In this article we explain:

  1. How Trades Work
  2. When it is convenient to do them
  3. 5 tips to avoid making mistakes

1. Trades: how they work

Between one Matchday and another, the Trades reopen and you can make an unlimited number of trades.

Be careful, though, because every change you make with respect to the previous team generates a penalty of -5 points (NBA) or -3 points (Euroleague), which will be subtracted from the score that your fantasy team will total in the upcoming Matchday.

2. Is it worth to make trades with the penalties?

Absolutely yes! Since the scores on Dunkest on average go between 10 and 40 points, it is worth receiving a -5pts penalty (or -3pts for Euroleague) if the player you purchase will be able to score higher than the previous player by that amount.

Example: on Matchday 1 of NBA Fantasy Basketball I lined up John Doe, who, however, got injured and will be out for 1 month. At this point, in view of Matchday 2, it is better for me to sell John Doe (who otherwise will total 0 points) and buy a new player who, even if it cost me -5 points of trades, will certainly score more than 0.

3. Tips not to make mistakes

At the end of each Matchday many of you will ask: “Do I change everyone or do I change no one?“. There is no sure answer, but we can give you some advice based on our experience:

1 | CHANGE COACH

An almost obligatory trade to do every Matchday is the one of the coach. We suggest that you always change it, choosing the coach of the team that could have the simplest challenge each Matchday.

In this way, in addition to the high score, you will get a sure capital gain.

2 | CHECK THE INJURIES

It is important, between one Matchday and the next, to check which players will surely not take the field in the next game.

In this case, our advice is to always change, because 5 (or 3) penalty points are nothing compared to those that a starting player potentially brings you.

3 | TRY TO MAKE CAPITAL GAINS

One of the most convenient strategies in Dunkest is to take players with low cost, but who have a high chance of making a good score and therefore increasing in value, consequently generating a Capital gain (to learn more: Capital gains: what they are and how do they work).

4 | USE A WILDCARD

The Wildcard (to learn more, Wildcard: what they are and how they work) is a game advantage that allows you to reset all the penalties due to trades accumulated during a transfer window.

This means that by using it you can potentially change the whole squad without having any kind of penalty!
