NBA closes Bam Adebayo-Tyler Herro investigation: no disciplinary action
The NBA has officially closed its investigation into the altercation between Bam Adebayo and Tyler Herro, issuing no disciplinary action following their confrontation at a Las Vegas gym
The NBA has decided not to discipline Bam Adebayo after his physical altercation with former teammate Tyler Herro at a gym in Las Vegas. Following discussions with the players involved and the National Basketball Players Association (NBPA), the league chose to close the matter without further action.
An NBA spokesperson told ESPN that all parties were ready to move on.

The decision reflects the league’s desire to quickly put the incident behind it following the end of Adebayo and Herro’s time together as teammates in Miami.
What happened between Adebayo and Herro
The incident dates back to last Friday, when Bam Adebayo and Tyler Herro crossed paths at a gym in Las Vegas. According to ESPN, the confrontation stemmed from social media comments attributed to Herro that questioned remarks previously made by the Heat center.
Adebayo reportedly confronted his former teammate about those comments, particularly criticism regarding his role on the team and his reported $60 million salary. The exchange escalated from a verbal argument into a physical confrontation.
According to sources, Adebayo struck Herro in the chin area, although the exact sequence of events remains unclear. Herro was reportedly never knocked to the ground, and several people at the gym intervened to prevent the Milwaukee Bucks guard from retaliating physically.
Herro: “I just want to move on”
Tyler Herro had already made it clear that he had no interest in prolonging the story.
Honestly, I’m just trying to leave it all behind. I’m focused on the Bucks and on building something special

Adebayo and Herro spent seven seasons together with the Miami Heat, developing a close relationship both on and off the court. However, according to sources close to the organization, their relationship had cooled in recent months.
Part of the tension reportedly stemmed from Herro’s difficult 2025-26 season, during which he appeared in only 33 games because of multiple injuries while struggling to adjust to Miami’s revamped offensive system. Before being traded, Herro averaged 20.5 points, 4.8 rebounds, and 4.1 assists per game after earning NBA All-Star honors the previous season with averages of 23.9 points, 5.5 assists, and 5.2 rebounds.
With the NBA’s decision now official, the matter is considered closed. Both Adebayo and Herro can now focus on the next chapters of their careers, away from Miami and without any further consequences stemming from what happened in Las Vegas.
