Dunkest NBA Fantasy Captain Picks: A Fox inspired by Popovich

Here are our captain role tips for your Dunkest NBA Fantasy Basketball teams

Dunkest NBA Fantasy Captain

As always, here we are to take a look at the best captains for your teams from a Dunkest NBA Fantasy Basketball perspective: here are our picks.

The NBA Playoffs 2026 have started., and we won’t leave you alone. Dunkest’s NBA Fantasy Basketball will continue through the Play-In and Playoffs.

League and draft

As announced at the start of the season, the regular season and Playoffs are part of a single competition. This means each league and draft can decide whether to stop or continue all the way through the Finals.

Here are the available options for the 2026 NBA Playoffs:

  • Continue with your current team in the same league until the end of the Playoffs
  • Create a new league/draft while keeping your current team and accumulated credits
  • Create a new league starting from scratch, with a new team and fewer credits than you currently have

Average scores and teams not on the schedule

  • Teams that are on the schedule but marked as resting will receive their average score (including all players on the roster, injured ones as well, plus the coach). This is designed to optimize the NBA calendar as much as possible. As in the regular season, players who receive an average score due to scheduling reasons will NOT get the 1.5x captain bonus if selected as captain.
  • Teams NOT on the schedule (players, coaches, and unavailable players) will NOT be considered “resting teams” and will NOT receive an average score, but instead 0 points. These are teams that have been eliminated or have already qualified and are waiting for their next Playoff opponent.

Dunkest NBA Fantasy Tips

Here you’ll find our tips, position by position, to tackle the best way Round 84 of NBA Dunkest Fantasy Basketball.

Round 84, Turn 1

Evan Mobley @ NYK

If there’s one player capable of causing problems for the Knicks and potentially saving Cleveland’s season, it’s Evan Mobley, as shown by his 24-point performance despite struggling from beyond the arc. He’s averaging 17.7 points, 8.7 rebounds, and 2 blocks in the series, numbers that still feel below expectations for a player of his caliber. We expect him to empty the tank and reach at least a double-double, returning to the level he displayed in previous series.

Round 84, Turn 2

De’Aaron Fox vs OKC

Following Gregg Popovich’s speech – still closely involved with his Spurs – San Antonio’s mentality appears to have shifted significantly. With the series tied again, De’Aaron Fox looks like the player most determined to seize control. Contributing across every area of the game, Fox has averaged 30.2 FPT, 17 points, 6 rebounds, 5.8 assists, and 1.4 steals over his last five games against OKC, while shooting over 52.3% from the field. At only 11.6 credits, it’s difficult to ask for much more.
